At Great Barr Academy we actively encourage our pupils to be creative in their writing and produce work that fires their imagination.

English is at the core of education and is embedded in all aspects of life.  As a result, we strive to support students in becoming excellent communicators, both verbally and in written form, and also critical readers: able to understand and evaluate key arguments in text.  Literature supports this through the opportunity to engage with intellectual ideas and critique changing perspectives.

Miss Cassem, Head of English, has set up an English blog to encourage our pupils to develop their written skills.  Please take a moment to read these wonderful pieces of creative writing and give our students feedback.
