The Department and the Role:

Our Science Department has an excellent track record, has been singled out for praise by OFSTED, is large and well resourced, has strong take-up of Sixth Form courses, has a TLR structure which provides great scope for career development; in short, it’s an excellent department in which to start or build upon a successful career.

The Science Department delivers a diverse range of examination courses:

• GCSEs in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Combined Science (Trilogy).
• A Levels in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma in Applied Science

Our team of Leading Practitioners support staff in their continuous professional development and disseminate good practice. Three of our Leading Practitioners are Science specialists.

The Candidate:

Applications welcome from experienced Science teachers with a track record of rapid pupil progress or from potential NQTs who are making good progress on their courses.

We welcome applications from Biology, Chemistry or Physics specialists. You will teach all specialisms at KS3 and your own specialism, and perhaps one other, at KS4. There may be an opportunity for the right candidate to teach KS5.

We have an NQT induction programme which is considered to be an exemplar of good practice.
